Phoenix Helicopter Academy is a new and enthusiastic helicopter training school and Charter operator located at the popular and charismatic Goodwood Aerodrome, Chichester, West Sussex, U.K.   It is the ideal location to learn to fly helicopters, take a helicopter trip or pleasure flight from and at Phoenix we are here to help with all your needs from helicopter flying lessons, gift experiences, pilot training, pleasure flights and helicopter charter.

Although we are a relatively new helicopter flying school and charter operator our instructors and pilots are not and our entire philosophy is aimed at helicopter pilot training and professional quality charter.  The company is owned and run by instructors and pilots who will go out of their way to fulfil your needs and make your helicopter flying lessons and training the unrushed, enjoyable and rewarding experience they should be so whether you are learning to fly for your pleasure and gaining your Private Pilots Licence Helicopter (PPL H) or the start of a new career to become a Commercial Helicopter Pilot (CPL H) we are here to help. 

We are ideally located on the centre of the south coast within an hour’s drive of Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Haslemere and only an hour and a half from London. We are proud to offer the highest standards of training tailored to your individual requirements with friendly, highly qualified staff, who are passionate about helicopters.

Goodwood is the perfect environment for learning to fly helicopters.  It hosts two of the largest helicopter events in the UK being the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.  It is very helicopter friendly with large hover training areas.  Goodwood itself is located in uncontrolled airspace and this frees up the lesson time to the maximum.  We tend to do most of our training either along the beautiful Sussex South Downs, or along the equally spectacular Hampshire and West Sussex coast line with Bournemouth or Brighton within easy flying reach.

On our Gift Lesson page you will find the perfect gift for those interested in the ultimate adventure of a helicopter flying lesson.  At Phoenix we offer a range of helicopter trial lesson gift experiences starting from just £100 . Each experience is a full lesson enabling you to have a full one to one experience with an instructor and also the chance to take the controls and experience the thrill of flying a helicopter for yourself. There's always something going on at Goodwood to makes it the perfect experience and a full day out.

On our Pleasure Flying Page you will find a variety of Helicopter Rides and Pleasure Flights from trips around Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight and we even have a unique set of Helicopter pleasure flights that include hotel stops for lunch. Pleasure flights start from just £35.00. Our flights can cover Goodwood and Sussex, Brighton, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and London

We can also cater for all your Helicopter Charter needs from bespoke helicopter charter for business, that special occasion, helicopter wedding flight or specialist Aerial Photography. We cover all the main event with Helicopter Charter shuttle flights to Silverstone F1 Grand Prix, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival as well as all the major sporting events.  At these events we offer a shuttle service.  For Goodwood we offer a shuttle from Shoreham Airport, Bournemouth Airport, Lee on Solent and Red Hill with standard prices per seat.  We can also arrange special charters from other locations on request.  For Silverstone we can offer shuttles from several locations around the site with prices starting from just £399 plus VAT.  Further detail is available on our charter page.
