Helicopter Flying in Spain
Fancy a Holiday Flying Experience? Then look no further as Phoenix will be operating out of a base in Spain this winter for training and self-fly hire.
How do I get involved?
There is no minimum or maximum flying hours to book. If you are interested contact us and we will make arrangements for your stay. One of our qualified instructors will be there at the other side to help with everything from familiarisation flying to helping you explore other local activities.
Where in Spain are we?
Requena. Requena is one of Spain’s most unspoilt area’s and as well as the flying the area hosts a wealth of other activities from skydiving, horse riding, canoeing to mountain biking or for the more laid back visitors, simply enjoy the local history, weather and vineyards.
If you choose the local accommodation at the airport you can enjoy a swimming pool, barbeque areas and sports facilities. Other options are available and completely flexible, the best bit is the weather normally barely drops below 20°C.
What’s the Flying like?
Experience flying over some beautifully scenic terrain with a fabulous mix of mountainous areas, beautiful coastline and the historic city of Valencia.
We have specially chosen this airfield for its friendliness towards visitors, facilities and local attraction to make your ‘Flying Holiday’ as relaxed and exciting as possible.
Requena is a municipality situated on the eastern side of Spain, in the province of Valencia, located on the bank of the river Magro. Located just 65km from Valencia and the coast, this medieval town is today primarily wine and livestock country, producing robust reds, rich sausages and spicy meats.
The town used to be a Moorish fortress, occupying a strong position in the mountainous region. It is dominated by the ancient citadel of the Moors, and still has traces of the original town walls.
Valencian located on the shores of the Mediterranean come to life to welcome visitors from all over the world. Spain’s third largest city has everything to offer, a perfect place for visiting the old town and the new. You can eat at choose a restaurant terrace and try one of the rice dishes that are so typical of Valencian cuisine, before relaxing on the long sandy beaches with a well-earned siesta or a dip in the sea. Nights in Valencia also have their own unique charm: open-air cinema or music so don’t be shy and treats that Valencia has to offer.

A very enjoyable flight. A birthday present for myself and friend and trial first flight. Hoping to do the flight down The Thames next year for our 40th and 60th birthdays!
Kim and David Edwards (Pleasure Flight)
We both had a fantastic flight and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely clear day which helped make the views over West Sussex stunning.
Having a flight in a helicopter is something I have wanted to do for years, it was great to enjoy such an experience.
Sean Larsen (Student)
I really enjoyed my training with Phoenix Helicopters (even with the stresses of a tight budget and timescale!), and having now passed my PPL I will definitely be continuing my training and self-fly hire there.
Kevin Piotrowicz (Student)

Easy to find with excellent parking. All staff, including Toby, our pilot, were very approachable and happy to chat. Great atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round.
Stuart Russell (Student)
Phoenix for me is now more than just a school to learn how to fly, it has a very homely feel to it, where students and the staff have become a family.
Aimee and Matt (Charter)
Thank you all at Phoenix, SO much! I think it's finally sinking in for Matt exactly what went on yesterday. His maiden chopper flight was wonderful and he had a great day. Such a smooth flight. Really can't thank you enough for making the day so special
