Professional Pilot Course
The Professional Pilot Course was designed for students that wish to learn to fly helicopters with the intention of becoming a commercial pilot. The course differs to our other courses in its structure, it is a semi-integrated course combining the PPL, Hour Building and CPL into one.
Why should I choose this course?
The advantages of choosing the semi-integrated professional pilots course include:
• Discounted Bulk Buy Landing Fees
• Discounted Training Rates
• FREE Robinson R44 Rating
• FREE Additional Courses
• Effective Course Structure
The training rates and landing fees on the professional pilot’s course are given at our cheapest rate due to the relatively large quantity of hours required to go from zero flight experience to commercially qualified. The Robinson R44 rating is completely FREE and is given as a credit on your account against your final payment. Courses such as the CRM course, Fire Training, and First Aid courses are all qualifications that you will need to acquire to work commercially and are all included FREE of charge on the course.
How do I pay?
The course is structured into four stages of payment. Click here to download our course information booklet.
Stage 1 – The Private Pilot’s Licence.
Stage 2 – R44 Rating, ATPL Theory Course and R22 Hour Building.
Stage 3 – The remaining R22 structured hour building.
Stage 4 – The final CPL Practical Course & Night Rating.
If this method of payment doesn’t suit you alternatively you can follow a module route and just pay as you fly, for this you will need to refer to our Standard Price List.

Easy to find with excellent parking. All staff, including Toby, our pilot, were very approachable and happy to chat. Great atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round.

Phoenix for me is now more than just a school to learn how to fly, it has a very homely feel to it, where students and the staff have become a family.
Thank you for a fantastic experience. It was very well organised and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Aimee and Matt (Charter)
Thank you all at Phoenix, SO much! I think it's finally sinking in for Matt exactly what went on yesterday. His maiden chopper flight was wonderful and he had a great day. Such a smooth flight. Really can't thank you enough for making the day so special
Kim and David Edwards (Pleasure Flight)
We both had a fantastic flight and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely clear day which helped make the views over West Sussex stunning.
Having a flight in a helicopter is something I have wanted to do for years, it was great to enjoy such an experience.

Phoenix Helicopter Academy at Goodwood is a great place to learn to fly. Relaxed, yet totally professional. The instructors go out of their way to ensure you get the best training. Highly recommended!
A very enjoyable flight. A birthday present for myself and friend and trial first flight. Hoping to do the flight down The Thames next year for our 40th and 60th birthdays!

Just a short note to express our thanks to all at Phoenix Blackbush, for a truly enjoyable experience. Our special thanks go to Simon Halfpenny not only for his cheerful sense of humour but also for his skill as a pilot, over the last 25 years I have flown with many pilots most being military or EX.& I can say that Simon ranks amongst the best that I have had the pleasure to fly with. I really enjoyed my training with Phoenix Helicopters (even with the stresses of a tight budget and timescale!), and having now passed my PPL I will definitely be continuing my training and self-fly hire there.
