Water Familiarisation Course

Another First for Phoenix Helicopters - R44 Water Familiarisation Course
Phoenix Helicopters are pleased to announce a new course for 2012, an R44 water familiarisation course. The course is based here at Goodwood and is the first to be run in the UK. The only pre-entry requirement is to hold an R44 type rating and the course itself is run over three hours covering all elements from aircraft preparation, characteristics of flight with the fixed floats as well as water landing and taxing techniques.
So if you have ever fancied landing a helicopter on the water then look no further than Phoenix Helicopters.
Experience the thrill of landing on water and enhancing your skill set as a helicopter pilot in our three hour water landing flight course.
This is to hone the skills to a standard where it is then safe to fly over and land on the water. All training is conducted from a private lake just outside the helicopter circuit. The helicopter that we use for the course will be the R44 Clipper G-SUNN. A full briefing pack and course notes are supplied as part of the course for you to take away for future reference.

Stuart Russell (Student)Phoenix for me is now more than just a school to learn how to fly, it has a very homely feel to it, where students and the staff have become a family.
Kevin Piotrowicz (Student)Phoenix Helicopter Academy at Goodwood is a great place to learn to fly. Relaxed, yet totally professional. The instructors go out of their way to ensure you get the best training. Highly recommended!
Kim and David Edwards (Pleasure Flight)We both had a fantastic flight and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely clear day which helped make the views over West Sussex stunning.
Having a flight in a helicopter is something I have wanted to do for years, it was great to enjoy such an experience.
Sean Larsen (Student)I really enjoyed my training with Phoenix Helicopters (even with the stresses of a tight budget and timescale!), and having now passed my PPL I will definitely be continuing my training and self-fly hire there.
