Laurence Tonna - PPL (H), R22 - September 2010
Laurence was another example of a student who wanted to get through his training fairly quickly, wanting to start his training in July and complete his PPL (H) prior to going back to university in September. Laurence took to flying very well, and managed to spend most of his time with us throughout the summer period, which of course helped with the consistency of his training. It is always helpful to fly regularly if you need to get through the training on a budget as the extra practice helps to hone your skills and increase the likelihood of passing within the 45 hours.
Laurence was keen to take the R22 to a mile high after passing his PPL (H), and after successfully passing his test he fulfilled his ambition, piloting the aircraft with our CFI to over 5,300 feet. A bit of fun to celebrate his success. Laurence was able to return to university, a very happy guy having accomplished his summer goals.
