Congratulations to Matthew Madden for completing the Private Pilot’s Licence with Phoenix Helicopters. Matthew can now share his passion for flying by hiring the aircraft for his personal use, taking up friends and family.

Matthew began training with Phoenix last year in between his busy work schedule. Mat progressed very quickly through the course despite having to take breaks from training whilst working abroad.
Above is Mat and examiner Tim Price in action on the PPL Skills test.
The course includes nine theoretical examinations and minimum of forty-five hours flight training. Ten hours of the course are conducted as supervised solo flight! Getting to the end of the course is a milestone in itself however to achieve the Private Pilot’s Licence a final skills test must be conducted.
The skills test is the final hurdle in the course. The test encompasses all elements of flight including pre-flight planning, navigation, general aircraft handling and simulated emergencies. Mat passed with flying colour, pardon the pun, and can now proudly class himself as a qualified private pilot. Well done Mat!
